Mike doing a live demo

Mike Page is the man behind the chainsaw. His first introduction to chainsaw wood carving was at a county fair in upstate New York in the summer of 2005, and he has been carving full time ever since. Mike specializes in chainsaw carved bears and other animals native to the Adirondacks, but he can carve almost anything! The Bear Den’s chainsaw carvings can be found in the Adirondack Mountain region of New York and in many other states and countries, including Switzerland, France, Germany, Alaska and Canada.

After watching other carvers create bears from logs, Mike thought maybe that was something he could do, too.  With a 10 year background in firewood sales, he was instantly drawn to the art form. After studying the anatomy of a bear, he improved his skills and saw a dramatic change in his bear carvings. He continually strives to produce realistic and life-like carvings.

His wife Linda is his business partner; she works full-time, handling everything except the actual carving. She does all of the finish work (including sanding and painting), the paperwork, and the computer updates.

The pictures found on this site are products that were all carved by Mike Page. Our carvings can be found in homes including Carlisle, Albany, Lake George, and surrounding areas. We also ship carvings all over the United States. For pricing information or other questions about The Bear Den in Carlisle, NY please give us a call today!
